The CTCPA participates in an inter-laboratory trial on propolis analyses

Published on : 21/01/2022

The nutritional quality laboratory of the CTCPA has been chosen to carry out an inter-laboratory test on propolis analysis. The objective of this inter-laboratory test is to develop and validate ISO standards for the analysis of propolis.

The inter-laboratory test is carried out by 17 laboratories experts in propolis analysis from 10 different countries. The CTCPA is the only French laboratory to participate. Each laboratory received 7 samples to be analyzed. It is now a question of checking the method and comparing the results obtained on several analyses!

Did you know that? The CTCPA is the only laboratory in France working on the polyphenolic characterization of propolis!

Our laboratory has developed analytical methods on polyphenols very characteristic of propolis. We have a technical expertise, analytical know-how as well as data libraries on the quantified molecules. Our knowledge of this matrix allows us to adapt the extraction method as well as possible! We have specific equipment for extraction: ultrasonic bath and probe, evaporator under nitrogen, ultra-turrax... Our methods allow to quantify polyphenols individually or globally, present in high quantities in propolis.
