Quality: The CTCPA is assisting ANIFELT in conducting inspections of the “Fruits et Légumes de France” logo!

Published on: September 28, 2026

The CTCPA assisted ANIFELT in conducting document reviews, traceability tests, and on-site audits related to the “Fruits et Légumes de France” logo. We spoke with Victoire CASSIGNOL, Executive Director of ANIFELT.

“The CTCPA’s annual audit is a true testament to the credibility and integrity of the ‘Fruits et Légumes de France’ program […] Being able to demonstrate that companies comply with the specifications directly contributes to the program’s reliability and safety.”

Tell us about ANIFELT: its structure, vision, values, products…

ANIFELT is the trade association for ready-to-eat fruits and vegetables. It brings together agricultural and industrial stakeholders who work every day to provide French consumers with affordable, varied fruits and vegetables that are suitable for all occasions and available year-round.

With a history spanning 50 years, ANIFELT advocates for a partnership model between producers and manufacturers who grow and process fruits and vegetables. The industry association is composed of two groups: the Production Group and the Manufacturing Group.

The sector comprises more than 15,000 farms in France that produce fruits and vegetables for processing, accounting for approximately 30% of vegetables and 20% of fruits. It also generates approximately 5 billion euros in revenue from processed products.

One of ANIFELT’s missions is to promote products of French origin. As part of this effort, the interprofessional organization is a member of the Association for the Promotion of French Agricultural Products (APAF), which owns, among other things, the “Produits Agricoles de France” trademarks, including the “Fruits et Légumes de France” logo.

This logo belongs to Interfel, the trade association for fresh fruits and vegetables, which has delegated its management to ANIFELT for processed fruits and vegetables. It serves as a guarantee for consumers: the fruits and vegetables were grown, harvested, prepared, processed, and packaged in France.

Today, the initiative brings together 24 processing companies in the sector, representing more than 42 brands. The logo appears on more than 1,300 product SKUs, and the participating companies are audited annually by the CTCPA.

How did you come to contact the CTCPA? What were your needs? What were your objectives?

The initiative surrounding the “Fruits et Légumes de France” logo was launched in the industry in 2016. At that time, we developed a set of guidelines to precisely regulate the use of the logo and ensure a reliable and credible initiative, both internally and in the eyes of consumers.

We have therefore established the requirements that must be met in order to display the logo, and we naturally turned to the CTCPA to ensure that companies in the industry are complying with these requirements, in particular through specific traceability monitoring.

The CTCPA has extensive knowledge of our products, the companies in the industry, and the processing methods. The goal was to establish an approach that was both reliable and robust, without adding unnecessary burdens to the companies. It was therefore able to build upon existing quality certifications with which the CTCPA was already familiar.

Why did you choose the CTCPA? How did you hear about the CTCPA?

When we were looking for an external organization to oversee the process, the CTCPA was naturally our first point of contact. It was already working with companies in the industry and was recognized for its technical expertise and independence.

Its role as the industry’s technical center and its knowledge of the key players and products therefore seemed particularly well-suited to our needs.

How did the support go?

The CTCPA supported us from the very beginning of the initiative, particularly in drafting the specifications. We worked together to determine the type of inspections to be implemented, their frequency, and the number of documents required, in order to strike the right balance between the initiative’s credibility and its acceptability to companies in the sector.

Today, this support continues on an annual basis. The CTCPA conducts audits of companies participating in the program and then provides us with both quantitative feedback on the audit results and qualitative feedback, based on discussions with the companies and any requests for changes to the specifications.

In 2025, the inspections conducted by the CTCPA covered 21 partner companies, including 6 on-site audits, 50 batches inspected, and 725 documents reviewed as part of document reviews and traceability tests. Joint inspections also covered 42 websites and 45 product packages. All inspected companies complied with the “Fruits et Légumes de France” specifications.

For the past 9 years, ANIFELT has had a single point of contact at the CTCPA, Alexandre DUPUIS, a project manager and expert in food safety management, which facilitates the long-term monitoring of the initiative.

What is your assessment today? How do you see the benefits of this support?

The annual inspection is a true testament to the credibility and reliability of the “Fruits et Légumes de France” initiative.

These inspections enable us to maintain a long-term commitment to an approach in which reputation and credibility are essential. Consumer surveys also show the importance attached to these logos: 90% of French people are familiar with the “Produits Agricoles de France” logo for at least one agricultural sector, 89% trust it, and 88% believe it reliably guarantees that products are of French origin.*.

The monitoring conducted by the CTCPA is also important internally. Each year, we present the results of the audits to our board of directors and share them with the companies participating in the program. Being able to demonstrate that companies comply with the specifications directly contributes to the reliability and safety of the program.

It is also a way to convince new companies to join the initiative and, in turn, display the logo.

What are your next goals or announcements?

Today, more than 60% of the products participating in the initiative are six vegetable varieties, primarily in the canned and frozen food sectors.

One of the challenges for the coming years is therefore to further raise the profile of the “Fruits et Légumes de France” logo across the entire ready-to-eat fruit and vegetable sector and on all store shelves. To achieve this, we must continue to promote it—both to companies in the industry, who are its primary ambassadors, and to consumers—in order to increase its name recognition.

The goal is therefore to continue developing the approach while maintaining the same level of reliability and credibility, particularly through the annual audits conducted by the CTCPA.
