BRCGS Packaging Material: version 7 is now available!

After receiving comments on version 6 from national and international stakeholders, the draft standard BRCGS Packaging Material version 7 has been open for consultation since May 10, and will remain so until June 12, 2024.

The BRCGS invites comments from national and international stakeholders representing packaging and packaging material manufacturers, trade associations, regulatory bodies, retailers, food service companies, brand owners, certification bodies and independent technical experts.

Examples of developments :

  • Clarification on product safety and quality culture to improve understanding and effective implementation of this point, introduced in version 6.

  • Responsibility for compliance with unannounced audit schedule (1 out of 3)

  • Alignment of hazard and risk assessment system with Codex Alimentarius principles (HACCP)

  • Additional clauses concerning equipment purchase and commissioning.

  • ...


Calendar :

  • October 2024: release of version 7

  • April 2025: start of certification audits based on version 7

On Monday October 28, version 7 of the BRCGS Packaging materials was published. It can be downloaded from https://www.brcgs.com.

The CTCPA invites you to identify the evolutions of this new version during a short distance learning course on Thursday December 12, 2024 from 9am to 12pm. (and make the link with the 12/12/2024 online training, which has now disappeared as there are only 2025 dates)
