To build the technological future of industry, the CTI Network and the Carnot Network are stepping up their cooperation.

They share the conviction that research prepares the answers to tomorrow's major scientific, economic and social challenges and that, in order for companies to benefit from their results, research players need to offer solutions tailored to their specific environment.

Since 2006, the Carnot label has been developing partnership research, i.e. research carried out by public laboratories in partnership with socio-economic players, mainly companies (from SMEs to major groups), in response to their needs. Partnership research is an important lever for the economy, fostering business innovation, which is a guarantee of competitiveness and growth. 39 research consortia have been awarded the Carnot label.

At the rendez-vous Carnot on Wednesday, October 18 in Lyon, Alexandre Bounouh, President of the Carnot Network, and Stéphane Le Guirriec, President of the CTI Network, have signed a partnership agreement.to accelerate the transition from research to innovation for industrial companies, and thus contribute to the technological future of industry. Together they are committed to :

  • Strengthen their links to mutually promote the originality and points of success of their models to their institutional supervisors, professional federations and industry support relays;

  • Promote excellence in research and development at their respective establishments;

  • Jointly encourage companies to dare to enter into research partnerships with a Carnot Institute.

The CTI industrial technical centers have been involved in the Carnot program since the label was first introduced, making a significant and original contribution. The CTIs are original Research and Transfer Organizations, whose mission is to contribute to the progress of their industrial sector.

Created more than 70 years ago as shared tools for industry sectors, the CTIs are the link between industry and the world of research, carrying out targeted research aimed at transforming results into applied products that rapidly create added value. As such, they are a natural part of the Carnot system, to which they bring their in-depth, day-to-day knowledge of their 46,000 companies, including 34,000 SMEs.

The CTI Network and the Carnot Network wish to pooling their strengths to facilitate access companies to research resources of excellence and a guarantee of useful results for their development. This joint mobilization is now necessary to move companies and their products upmarket, in order to meet the challenges of the environmental and energy transition in good time.

 "Transforming research into operational innovations for companies is key to their transformation and competitiveness. This is a conviction that we have long shared with the CTI Network. By signing this agreement, we aim to mobilize our strengths and highlight the excellence of research and development in our two networks, in the service of companies and France's technological sovereignty. " Alexandre BOUNOUH, President of the Carnot Institutes Network

"CTIs are original institutes whose mission is to contribute to the progress of their industrial sector. As research and knowledge dissemination organizations, they support the players in their industrial sectors in research projects that have reached a level of technological maturity enabling them to be brought to market rapidly. They have a natural place in the Carnot system, as they have the full structure and robust organization to support the excellence of the Carnot model. In constant contact with companies, they ensure widespread promotion of the Carnot label. Strengthening the collaboration between the two networks today is a natural step. We share the same conviction that we can help companies accelerate their ecological and industrial transformation, through research of the highest standard. Stéphane LE GUIRRIEC, Chairman of the CTI Network
