Results of the 2022 cookie wheat quality survey

Published on : 07/10/2022

The "Quality of cookie wheat" survey is carried out by FranceAgriMer, ARVALIS - Institut du végétal and the Centre Technique de la Conservation des Produits Agricoles (CTCPA), with the financial support of the Biscuit and Cake Manufacturers of France and Intercéréales.

The aim of the survey is to inform professionals about the quality of cookie wheat collected in silos belonging to storage organizations, cooperatives or traders in the main production and supply regions of the industries: Grand-Est, New Aquitaine, Pays de la Loire and Hauts-de-France. During the harvest, 12 samples, corresponding to pure allotment cookie varieties, were taken at the entrance of the silos by FranceAgriMer agents from the categories set up by the collectors. Three varieties were taken in this framework: ARKEOS, HANSEL and SU ECUSSON.

The varietal identity of the samples was verified by PCR by the Pôle Analytique of ARVALIS. The samples were then analyzed by the CTCPA cereal laboratory and by the FranceAgriMer laboratory.

Did you know that ? The CTCPA carries out cookie tests in its technological hall in Auch. The cookie test allows to measure the aptitude of a wheat to meet the requirements of the cookie industry, i.e. to produce cookies with crispy and light textures and controlled dimensions.
