The CTCPA has successfully obtained approval for the Actia QUALIVEG 3 UMT project "Conception intégrée des itinéraires de transformation des fruits et légumes" for a five-year period (2023-2027). This UMT project was of great interest to ACTIA's Scientific and Technical Council (CST), as well as to the French Ministry of Agriculture and Food Sovereignty.
UMT Actia QUALIVEG 3: this UMT (Unité Mixte Technologique) Actia brings together the CTCPA and the UMR INRAE SQPOV, with a broader range of teams involved than in the previous UMT, the program of work being more broadly multidisciplinary.
The UMT project involves the integrated design of fruit and vegetable processing itineraries. This objective will enable us to build on our expertise in fruit and vegetable quality, and in particular the upstream-downstream link, food safety and processing. The specific challenges of Qualiveg3 are (i) innovation in processes, by studying processes or combinations of processes that will make it possible to revisit the conservation and valorization of co-products, (ii) innovation in the multi-criteria evaluation of qualities and their consideration in the product life cycle, by characterizing the different dimensions of quality using innovative tools at different stages of the technological itinerary, (iii) the development of basic and global performance comparison tools that integrate the different dimensions of quality (such as nutritional, microbiological, environmental, etc.).). It includes the development of on-line characterization tools (spectroscopy, sensors, image analysis, machine learning).
