Sensor monitoring and artificial intelligence in agri-food

Introduction
Digital transformation is changing the agricultural and agri-food sectors, moving them towards more flexible, connected production systems that are managed in real time.
Sensors, decision-making tools, and online measurement technologies are becoming essential levers for optimizing product quality, energy performance, and productivity. While these solutions are already well established in certain agricultural sectors, their deployment in the agri-food industry remains limited.
Through the FUTURCAN project, this article provides an overview of the main sensors and digital tools studied, as well as the prospects offered by artificial intelligence to support the transformation of the agri-food sector.
