Introduction

Food waste represents a major challenge for the agri-food industry, with almost 10 million tons lost every year in France. The AGEC law requires companies to implement a reduction program, including a diagnosis of losses.

The CTCPA/PACT'ALIM 2025 guide provides a practical framework for identifying, characterizing and prioritizing food waste deposits, defining performance thresholds and implementing appropriate reduction actions. The guide helps food processors meet regulatory requirements while optimizing the recovery and management of their waste.
