Introduction

The use of Bisphenol A (BPA) in materials in contact with food has been the subject of particular attention from health authorities for over a decade, both in France and at European level. This article traces the evolution of French and European regulations on BPA, up to the entry into force of Regulation (EU) 2024/3190. It also sheds light on the differences between the texts, the obligations for professionals, the deadlines for disposing of stocks, as well as the new testing methods and areas of uncertainty to be clarified.
